on the other hand, i am excited for my journey back — i have booked most of the trains and the ferry. i think it will be a good way to ease the culture shock, and arrive more naturally, it feels right not to fly. hmmmmmm• presentation of some of my work here, got very positive feedback and then we had a little celebration for the exchange students• now i have three days to finish the weave which will be 60cm by 80cm when its done! as i mentioned at the beginning of this blog, the production level at japanese art school is a lot higher it seems, but i am now doubting how sustainable this constant working is. where does money come into play? how to stay in the loop but not get weighed down by it? how to plant a forest? how to be inclusive? i think the future is rapidly becoming less and less based on the past — the things changing in the world climate breakdown, crazy men throwing missiles, both creating displacement of people while simultaneously all the borders getting harder, depression, hate, fear, anger are getting more drastic it feels giving less options for the future, maybe we will be forced to start helping each other, hopefully. and where does art come into all this? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! this is my general feeling this week. i am sad. a man hung himself in public outside shinjuku station this week• took a brief trip to see mount fuji, it was very nice, we stayed in a town called kawaguchiko where we found flower lights, snow shadows, and a place to practise baseball. and of course an incredible view of fuji-san! coming back to tokyo after a brief interval was strange especially because i would only have three more weeks here before leaving. it has been slightly stressful de-registering and packing and finishing final projects at school. i think i am quite tired and i have realised that there is much to be said about how settling in one place is perhaps healthier for my daily life. i am not good at handling stress. it was quite intense as the lifestyle my grandparents have is very different to what i am used to and yes. my brother visited from niseko, where he as been working, he is about to start a new job as a driver for rich people who go there to snowboard• what dinners look like sometimes• went to kyoto, it was amazing drew us made friends with sk8er crew i went slightly crazy, i spoke to my first love and elevated 5cm off the ground, stayed there for about 2 weeks, in limbo dreamland, almost faded away, but then it was my birthday, and i did some weird mind deals and i think i landed again, and closured a bit and i feel quite good and free now. also, going through this process made me start drawing again!! presentation day, of everyones ideas for their weaving• the knitwear i made was exhibited at this exhibition in roppongi, tokyo here is weaving class update in photos, we have been making samples to test out some different patterns. these weaving looms have many pedals. i have now made a design that abstractly links to the concept of mother and daughter. we visited a mother child hospital at the beginning of this block, and everyones work will be put in a sort of competition and the hospital will choose a few pieces to go up in their hospital• oops, i have not updated this for three weeks.. loafs of toast finally finished the dress i was knitting!! head of fashion department brought in a massive loaf of bread• a heart shape because love never dies• old work i found on my laptop…• a translation of a french poem by Houellebecq, my perception of it is blurry because of how i feel about the person who told me to read it — this is an interesting phenomenon i suppose some signs• mickey mouse in living room• the assistant teacher always takes photos of everything• but yes last week was rough. i started feeling ill on monday, then pushed myself into school on tuesday as deadlines were coming up, then felt really ill and had to go home, got home and the electricity at our apartment had been cut! and the office where i could sort this out was already closed! and i was so cold! so i cooked in the dark, thank god the gas still worked, and made a hot water bottle and went to sleep and stayed in bed on wednesday too. all very interesting stuff Posted by Posted in machine knitting is very fun. i am making a dress with peoples left over yarns for the neck and sleeves• still hairdressing for stories tokyo is full of interesting adverts and sleeping commuters• i went to nikko for the weekend with hermione and miradonna. we hiked a bit, visited shrines and looked at the autumnal leaves, it was spectacular. on the last morning at nikko we went to a little cafe bakery and i daydreamed about applying for a job and living there and spending my days walking in nature and baking. i guess i should complete my degree first lol, was also missing amsterdam the last days actually. also was thinking about how strange it is that city people go on a search for nature on holidays and then nature gets crowded• halloween is a pretty damn big deal here, it was a crazy crazy night. i was a yellow banana i have been sewing lots and making clothes back to present in tokyo, i keep forgetting to take documentation photos as of late, so excuse me please. i have been cutting out my katazome stencil, very meticulous and makes me crazy, but my patience and tolerance to detail is growing, did i already mention that that is what i am learning most by studying and living here? patience. and care and detail, job done well and not rushed. zen. some pics from katazome class• woahhhhhhh spent the last hour researching how to travel back, i think i will take the ferry from osaka to shanghai on a friday, then a train from beijing the next saturday, takes 7 days from there to arrive in moscow, then train to st. petersberg, then helsinki then a ferry to stockholm then train to copenhagen then to hamburg then amsterdam! Shit, its gonna be quite a journey. i will make a film project from it, but not sure what the focus should be yet… i will do some idea catching these days, i should plan it properly so it works out and i get the footage i need. ahhhhhh i feel quite nervous and excited but maybe that is partly due to the amount of caffine i just drank internet cafe etiquette and the fact that i am about to call with my first love for the first time in over three years ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, i am so nervous fuck. still need to work with the footage i got, but here are a few shots to get the essence of this work…• i went to this Extinction Rebellion event here, have been trying to get involved here — but nah, it felt strange and not at all serious, maybe this is not the way to tackle climate issues in japan, there is a very different way of approaching things here, one i do not know enough about as i have not grown up here i also started the next afternoon block in which we are learning how to knit with a machine! i love it! we have to make a t-shirt with a pattern, but i might try and make a dress….. we all had to make this chart, which we will test out our colours to then use in our katazome piece. making this thing took ages and a lot of patience, and its just for a tester — i think the main thing i am learning here is patience and how to enjoy taking time and care when doing things, it feels quite healthy. i finished the prep for this chart thing in about 6 hours, later found later i found a drain that resembled it• i started the morning class where we are learning how to do katazome dyeing. fishoes there was a typhoon, a super typhoon, called hagabis. over 50 people died and lots injured.. it was meant to be pretty bad where i am, but in the end it was more west than expected. but we prepared for the worst. was strange to get these emergency alerts on my phone. after it passed i cycled to the river and saw a dead fish on the riverbed. its all been a bit busy recently, i finally had some time to be on my own, which felt good, to assess what i am actually doing here, what i am actually feeling etc. i met some very nice people who studied at geidai, and am having inklings of an idea to apply for a masters course there once i finish my bachelors at rietveld. here are three of the four walls of my little plastic house, they are about 90cm by 80cm. still need to make the roof and the floor and the metal wire structure to hold it all up i think i will offer cold tea and conversations inside it? visited one of the three painting department buildings to collect plastic bags off fellow student, this school is so so big, the whole rietveld could fit into the woodwork shop for example i exaggerate, but not much , was interesting to see the paintings and the mess. collecting and collecting, plastic bags everywhere, flying at me from all directions, even my head professor yuka left some neatly folded plastic bags on my desk with a nice little note. in japan people fold their plastic bags into triangles. i have been cutting and crocheting non stop this week as my deadline, and presentation day is on tuesday, it is quite adrenaline kicking to have to produce under such tight time restrictions.. will i make it or not.. but you always do, i think i just spread out the work intensity if i have more time! my brother got a hairdo, i have been helping him figure out what his plans are, he is a bit lost, reminds me of how i felt at 18.. bit of a overwhelming time! in exchange he has been helping me cut up plastic bags! Posted by Posted in bought a large crochet hook and have been testing out how to make the walls of this house… one average sized bag makes about 3 stitches — so i will need a lot of bag. have been putting these up around school to try and collect other students plastic bags, hopefully instead of binning them they are put in here. it has kind of worked so far. i am using old plastic bags for a project. please put your plastic bags in here! here is a gomi bako made from reji-bukuros! a bin made from plastic bags which i crocheted together. its quite time consuming to do this, but i enjoy it and it feels good to be doing something that uses the heaps of plastic bags everywhere. not really sure exactly why i am doing this, but i think the idea of a mini house i used to love making them out of cardboard as a kid is quite appealing, to be able to enter an object and sit inside. it is nice to build ones own house, maybe i will bring it back to amsterdam with me. also of course, the starting point of this idea was the re-using of all the millions of plastic bags, the thought of recycling is questioned — when we put something in the recycling bin we seem to think that the use of plastic has been repented and it will now disappear in the recycle bubble — of course this is not really the case, the plastic stays around for a lot longer causing big problems.. , and it seems that recycling is an easy way out, not actually tackling the source of the problem…. can plastic be cosy? my favourite thing this week was cycling around and then going to the local sento! i think I will really miss this bath house culture when i leave tokyo how am i going to leave?! still there were quite a lot of people at the march! we were all arranged into rows of 5 and walked on one lane of a three lane road so that traffic could still flow next to us. not sure if this is good way to trigger change in japan, the people not involved in march looked like they wanted to kill us, also majority of people marching were not japanese, it all felt slightly strange, but still it is something at least! it also has some crochet. i learnt how to change colours and make different patters and stretchy necks. i very much enjoy knitting• front• back here are a few photos of various activities that have taken place, with new friends and old friends and friends of friends who are now friends, it is very nice to settle into a new place. video calling arrangements are getting better, it is very nice to talk to people on other side of world, archie shaved his head so he can wear wigs! underneath you see my 1,2,3 experiments, where the teacher taught us different techniques, then number 4, we started in class and i must finish as homework. on saturday we will twist our own string and use it to create something of our own — i found some leftover black hemp string, i think i will use it and make a wig-like hat that imitates my hair. my friend Cally is fluent in English, and saves me by translating — all my lessons are in japanese. she might apply to do an exchange at rietveld btw i am slowly getting into the flow of things, although i think i am a little overwhelmed, i can see this because of the growing urge inside me to be on my own. i have joined the technical class that is focussed on knitting and crocheting and ply split, i have already been taught how to crochet, i already know how to knit. we will create a 3D object. i will make something from the constant flow of plastic waste that i see all around, its really exaggerated here, you have to be really quick with rejecting a レジ袋 regi-bukuro otherwise you get one with anything you buy, even a stamp or paper clip or something that is already in aレジ袋. the underneath photos are some experiments using the old plastic bags and a crochet hook arranging skyping times is a bit complicated, i feel very far away, but its possible Posted by Posted in Posts navigation.

Davvero straordinaria cura del personale sui persone con allergie a cibi selezionati. Vicinanza alla spiaggia, parcheggio adorabile e lettini all'ombra di un giardino con fontana. This hotel however is one of the very few that I have ever stayed in that I would dis encourage my friends to stay at. Not a hospitable staff, but hey clean and located well. If you want that Italian hospitality there we love and admire, then this is not the place to go to experience it. They seem superficial, and not interested in going to any lengths to ensure that your stay is pleasant. A place where you actually think twice weather you want to bother them for an extra toilet roll, because it seems to be a hassle. Nope would not use this hotel again.
